Gabriel Jesus’s agent, Marcelo Pettinati, has confirmed that Arsenal are interested in signing the Brazil international this summer.

The Manchester City forward is facing an uncertain future after it was confirmed that the club has signed Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund – and Julian Alvarez from River Plate – for the seasons ahead. Arsenal, facing a striker crisis of their own with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both set for departures, have been linked with Jesus in recent weeks.

Furthermore, Pettinati stated that his client is also in talks with several other clubs – but that he likes the project at Arsenal.

“We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus. We like the project – it’s a possibility we’re discussing. There are six more clubs interested in Gabriel. He’s focused on the final games with Man City. We’ll see.”

    he said.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was less revealing when quizzed about Jesus’s future a few weeks ago. In the aftermath of the forward’s four-goal haul against Watford, the Spaniard reiterated that the Brazilian is currently a City player but confirmed that his future remains up in the air.

“Gabriel is our player. I don’t know what is going to happen, but he is a Man City player. When he has days like today, I am the happiest man in the world! Every player is happy when they play 90 minutes all the time but at the end of the season, whether he wants to extend, stay or leave, I don’t know or don’t care.”

    he said.

Meanwhile, journalist Bruno Andrade claimed that a deal between City and Arsenal for the transfer of Jesus was close. Andrade revealed that Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar – Arsenal’s manager and sporting director, respectively – have been key in the negotiations and that an agreement for 50 million euros was close to being reached.
